This is the sister piece I did for an older devation I did, obviously entitled The Banrind Gull.

This scene depicts one of the conflicts in a novel in progress I'm working on and off on, in which one of the main characters, Kit (obviously the girl in the top right) finds herself in conflict with a flock of a dragons called the Banrind Gulls (and if you can't figure out where that is, you need help). Essentially, the beasts are generally sea-faring beasts, hence why I didn't give it horns and spikes and everything up to whazoo, but the do have massive wings... so big that they couldn't even fit in the deviation.... ~shifts eyes~.

Anyway, all in all, I just like this piece because if anything, it shows how much I've changed in the last couple of years and how much more proficient I've become. I know this piece is still rough in some places (mostly because some of this stuff was an experimental first try, and the base drawings were just in pencil), but I can say that for the time being, I'm proud of this piece.

Anyway, special thanks to Dennis Hill for the sample textures, and much thanks to my mates on DVA who keep encouraging me to get better in what I do. :)

Total layers: 46.
Total time taken: 6-8 hours (2 hours sketching, 4-6 hours in Photoshop 7).

Yeah, you should have seen it before I diluted it though... holy crap did it look bad.

I think the main problem with it, I assume, is the fact that I was lazy once again and used the plastic wrap option. Note to self: plastic wrap = suckage. :)

Thanks again for the comments Zhot, I really appreciate them. If you ever have a piece you want me to critique for you, just give me a buzz and it'll be a pleasure to do so. :)

Uuuhhuuhuuu. I should have excepted this kind of quality from you. The only "bad" thing is that the dragon looks kinda odd. Like... umm.... Too 3-D compared to the woman.

"I'm singing in the cave. Just singing in the cave... Oh, a visitor! Do you like my song? Let me sing you more! I'm singing in the cave. Just singin..." WHACK!! :dead:

Yeah, that was a really early experiment with making scales and such. Still, I'm glad you like it.
